A perfect lager for winter, this brew is simply amazing. It's as smooth as you'd expect a lager to be, but with more body and richness making you feel like you hit the jackpot when having a sip.
Come down to give it try one out for yourself or pick up a growler to go.
The Brewing Loony
Always a special treat, Luke is on his Minnesota Winter tour and will be gracing the stage at Loony's Brew this Saturday. An incredibly talented performer, should be a big help in providing some well needed energy in our not quite over winter.
A great way to take a break from winter, get down with some tunes, dance with the loons, howl at the moon, see you soon!
The Events Loony
Stephen King would be proud. This will surely be an entertaining event as it seems everyone around here has a few ghost stories to share, and not only that, but often from places they're currently living in, feeling like this area has more ghosts per capita than anywhere.
Of course, what could be interesting is with everyone sharing all these ghost stories for a few hours is that a few ghosts actually show up, make their presence known in one way or another. Then again as the saying goes, be careful of what you wish for...
The Events Loony
I'm happy to announce our newest addition to the lager family, that being the Marvin Marzen Lager, with the Marzen style otherwise known as the Octoberfest of beers.
Another word of note is after a couple month hiatus, the most popular beer of 2018 is back on tap, the Gold Portage Blonde Ale!
The Brewing Loony

I don't know if it's the relatively warm weather we've been having, the drastic changes in weather from this fall through now, the New Year kicking in after some holidays, Ice Box days coming up next week already, or a combination of all of the above plus a bunch of other stuff but things seem to be moving blazingly fast lately. Just so you don't miss anything, here's a recap of activities at Loony's this week:
Sports Backtalk with Boly and Ringer, from around 5-7pm, usually about an hour but starts and ends within those timeframes. Here you can get updated on all the local, state, and national sports activities with a Q&A with the audience at the end of the show. For later in the evening, as Mondays are relatively slower than other days of the week, it's started to become a bit of a karaoke/open mic night, helping from having a smaller, more intimate crowd to play with.
Dart night, great to cheer or heckle your preferred teams.
Trivia night is back! Starting at 7pm with a mystery prize for the winning team. Lots of fun guessing the answers to the new and crazy questions that Kevin comes up with. Every week seems to try out a new direction or two.
That's about it for now, enjoy the relatively warm and snowy January of Northern Minnesota!
Come on down this Saturday to escape the cold and warm up with the strong energy of Sloughgrass!
