Are we open over Christmas?

Yes, for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So if for whatever reason you'd like to go out, have a few, listen to some tunes, play on the stage or with karaoke, the bar is open with amazing specials from open to close!

Are we forcing employees to work as well? Of course not, that would be a bit cruel for anyone making plans with family members and have been doing so for decades, a taboo breaking such a tradition. I'll be manning the bar with perhaps one other helper occasionally stepping in.

For myself, it's a bit more personal. For example, when living in Europe, Thanksgiving wasn't exactly a big deal, everyone worked as it wasn't any type of holiday, although the days may have been a bit shorter with no communication/conference calls with the Americans. I'd have a phone call with family members for 30 minutes or so and that was it. Likewise when living in China, Christmas isn't really a big deal there either, people go to work and do their normal activities, just another day. Again it'd be a brief phone call with some family members and back to reality. About the same could be said for anyone living and separated from those you grew up celebrating the holidays with. As one feels a bit of natural detachment in such an environment, my refuge was visiting a favorite pub or two and socializing with others who more often than not, were in the same boat as myself and the group would sort of channel that extra energy into having a great time, making the best of what we had.

So, in tribute to anyone else that's from out of town or simply doesn't have any grand plans but since you have the day off, would like to party/socialize a bit, the open sign will be on, it'll be nice and cozy inside, with plenty of beverages, food and music for everyone, with 2-1 happy hours from open to close. If you have plans but would like to spread a bit of Loony's Brew cheer and spirit, anyone that comes in with a growler on either day gets one free refill of whatever beer you'd like, allowing you to share a bit of the Loony's Brew Christmas spirit.

Cheers,
The Christmas Spirit Loony
