Giving the Drunken Loon some love...

While the Amaizing Cream Ale, Gold Portage, Voyageur Pale Ale, Flying Squirrel Amber and others get tons of accolades/praise, the Drunken Loon Dark Belgian Ale is relatively left in the cold. So, in an effort to boost the lonely birds spirits a bit, here's 10 reasons why the Drunken Loon is such an amazing beer:
  1. In all the beers I've tasted while living in the beer capital of the world, (Belgium, they need good beer to calm down their extreme passive aggressiveness) for three years, you beat them all hands down.
  2. The hints of black licorice from the Star Anise (a powerful aphrodisiac) are the ideal amounts, not too strong or too light.
  3. Your six different grains/malts are blended perfectly, providing a complex and flavorful brew.
  4. Your +20 pounds of dark Belgian candy sugar give a fermented boost like no other.
  5. The hops of Nugget (Oregon) and Pacifica (New Zealand) are in the ideal amounts, added at various stages of the boil.
  6. Your herbs/spices of Coriander, Cardamom, Grains of Paradise, and Rose Hips round out the brew to lend a curiosity begging to have another.
  7. Your dark amber color with Irish Moss provide a depth and mystery that Merlin himself would be jealous of.
  8. Your strong ABV of ~8.5% gives one courage to do anything.
  9. Your new goblet size portions are just right to have one or two without falling down and pissing all over oneself, not that I'd mind and would joyfully ask for another.
  10. Your foundation of the Rainy Lake area water makes it the ultimate beer for anyone with a taste for quality.
Try one in the new goblet size...

Additionally, given the strong ABV, we've added a new goblet size option where you can give one a try for a special winter pricing of only $3, where pints are left at $5.

Cheers,
The Drunken Loony

PS: Don't forget tonight is the special Winter Solstice bonfire party where many complimentary growlers will be on hand, followed by Thirsty Thursday, where all pints are are a mere $1.
