Maybe it's with the passing of labor day, the leaves starting to change, but for whatever reason some fall house cleaning is being done and with that, a discarding of about a 100 DVDs and about a 100 books. They're located on the table in the back of the bar in various boxes. Anyone can come down, check them out and grab a few if so desired. The only restriction being not to simply grab everything but a half dozen or a few more, no problem, go nuts.
A collection of science fiction, adventure, comedy, horror, documentaries, mystery and more. It helps to have a DVD player that can play DVDs from all three regions, as many were picked up in Europe and Asia.
Most of these have been from delving into a bit of the mystical side of things over the last decade or so, including a bunch of histories, poets, philosophers, folk tales, fiction, and various "classics" from different cultures, i.e. Arabian Nights.
Of course, it can probably help when browsing to have a pint , bottle, or glass of your favorite beverage while doing so. Because, well, you don't want to feel rushed into a selection and the extra time will help to allow one to really dig through and make sure they don't miss anything, yeah, that's it.
Cheers and enjoy the new movies and stories,
It's Wednesday, Open Mic night! Playing to begin shortly after sunset.
Hats can be many things to different people, such as from Monty Python:
Here at Loony's Brew, we've scattered the place with over a dozen different hats and when you combine that with a drink or two, an open stage, house instruments and a live microphone, look out, guaranteed something is going to happen. As soon as someone puts on a hat, they change, become liberated you could say and ready to roll for whatever comes next. It gets crazy at times as once one person starts, it's a sheer cliff for the rest, full speed ahead and before you know it, every single hat is on a head.
Given the circumstances, we've been fortunate to not lose too many hats over the last year. That said, the red and white Cat in the Hat hat is missing again, I think from the weekend, sort of like a stray cat, it turns up sooner or later but in the meantime, other customers have noticed its absence and would appreciate its kind return.
But yeah, hats, they seem to have an almost magical power that comes with them, infusing the person wearing them with a seemingly unknown guiding spirit ready to chart the same old course or role that the particular hat likes best. Or a balance of the individual and the hat, with the result being completely different every time, either way, never boring.
