Need a Non-Glass Growler?

If so, you're in luck as the plastic 64 oz versions have arrived!!!
Picture
While glass can be great to set in the refrigerator, on the kitchen counter, or on a table inside or outside, when taking outdoors, the plastic version has some advantages including:
  • They're light: Once consumed, they don't weigh hardly anything, making it easy to carry back or whenever weight is a concern. They also float and if one had enough, could build a boat.
  • They don't break: Especially important when traveling in a boat or down a bumpy road where it's packed along with everything else. But also for consuming outdoors in general, such as on a beach or sandy area, glass is big no-no, things happen, welcome to the outdoors and one doesn't want to worry about having something break and making sure everything is cleaned up.
Of course, the flip side of plastic being:
  • Heat Sensitivity: Not to be left in the sun too long and especially not close to a campfire.
  • Longevity: Through general wear and tear, a glass container will last much longer than its plastic counterpart, likewise stainless steel over glass.

So if planning a trip or outdoor event and present not to use glass, you can try out a plastic Growler with a Loony's Brew beer, now including the Amaizing Cream Ale, Flying Squirrel Amber Ale, Drunken Moose Dark Belgian Ale, Voyageur Pale Ale, and Lost Bay IPA.

Cheers,

This Friday (tomorrow) starting at 9pm the amazing solo musician live looping Jean-Paul De Roover from Thunder Bay will be performing where you can experience and hear a blending of ideas from rock, pop, a cappella and electronica. A sample from his YouTube channel.

A bit of background from his biography:
  • "Although he was born in Thunder Bay, ON, De Roover was raised overseas in Africa, Asia and South America before moving back to Canada in 2001..."
  • "De Roover has worked hard to develop his one-man-show, touring relentlessly in North America and Europe since 2007 with his signature red piping platforms. He has had the opportunity to share stages with artists such as the Beach Boys, Goo Goo Dolls, Said The Whale, Beardyman as well as countless others including the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. He has showcased at international music festivals including Canadian Music Fest and NXNE, and has been reviewed in publications like Exclaim!, Earshot!, and Vancouver’s The Georgia Straight."
  • "When he’s not on stage, De Roover is also a composer having worked on projects of many musical genres including over a dozen commercials, nine short films and recently the IMAX 3D feature documentary Wonders of the Arctic directed by David Lickley."

Indeed, will be an evening not to be missed, looking forward to a truly unique musical experience!

Cheers,

What makes it so special?
Besides the process involved, our own little trade secret, and never mind the amazingly high quality water, some of the ingredients include:

Your Chance to Support the Stephen King Short Film "One for the Road", Starring Lance Henriksen

Yup, what started back in February, at least for Loony's Brew, is getting ever closer to becoming a reality with filming scheduled in September. The director Joshua Brucker has done an amazing job initiating and organizing the project, not a trivial thing to do, and it's now at the critical stage of funding.

Since this film is not a Hollywood mega-budget movie to be shown and sold at thousands of movie theaters worldwide, it likewise doesn't have the massive budget but what it lacks in funding, it more than makes up for in passion and heart from seemingly everyone involved. Which from all the movies I've seen, seem to be the key ingredients anyway to making the film a success. What does success for a movie like this mean if not for profit? While others may have their own definitions, some of my perspectives include:
  • Film Festival Success: To be potentially showed at dozens of events with anywhere from hundreds to thousands of people viewing at each event, this is the springboard for everything else.
  • A Viral Hit: If it works and strikes an appropriate vibe or chord with viewers, the thousands of viewers could grow to millions, giving appropriate support and recognition to everyone involved.
  • Individual Recognition: For most involved with the project, this is completely new and as doing anything new can be a scary thing in itself, success from doing so could spark waves of life changes, opening doors that one may not of even known existed.
  • Local Recognition: In some ways, a project like this puts us on the map in a way that few other activities could do. This includes locations such as Loony's Brew, Ranier, and International Falls, as well as for all the people involved, most of which include locals and others with connections to the area.

How you can support:
The project is being crowdfunded from Indiegogo and is looking to raise $35,000. Anyone interested can contribute at different levels and with their contribution, will receive various items in return including social media shout-outs, digital downloads, signed posters, t-shirts, and much more. The different levels include:
  • The Beer: $5
  • The Tall Boy: $10
  • The Glass of Wine: $25
  • The Shot of Bourbon: $50
  • The Bourbon and Coke: $100
  • The Highball: $150
  • The Martini: $250
  • The Daiquiri: $500
  • The Long Island Iced Tea: $1,000
  • The Mai-Tai: $1,500
  • The Bloody Mary: $2,000

Check out the Indiegogo One for the Road page to learn more about the movie, the different levels, and make a contribution. Your support for helping to make these dreams a reality is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Loony's Brew
