The Gingebiru NA

I'm happy to announce that we now have our 2nd NA brew now on tap with the Gingebiru Ginger Beer NA. Using only ginger and lemon for flavor it's also considered a Gruit style without having any hops.
The Details
  • SRM (Color): 3.5. This was the color of the original Gingebiru brew with alcohol, but through the cooking process to remove the alcohol, the color darkened a bit, making it closer to a 7-9 color rating.
  • IBU (Hops Bitterness): This has some bitterness from the lemon but as these were peeled lemons, the bitterness was minimized. That said, through the additional cooking process, much of the lemon citrus flavor was made a bit more mellow.
  • ABV: 0%
For those looking for some NA beer without the hops. This brew has a refreshing ginger lemon flavor perfect for those hot summer days.

Note that when trying one out, it'll taste a bit different than the common ginger beer that you're familiar with. This is from two key ingredient differences, the first is the traditional ginger beer uses sugar versus we use malt. This makes ours more of light amber color and provides additional flavor from the malt versus the relatively flavorless sugar. The second is we added a number of peeled, sliced lemons to the mix, giving more of a citrus balance to the ginger, which we were thinking would make it a better summer beverage.

Also of note is this is our second NA brew available and now on tap. We've found the NA brews to be much more popular that we originally thought so an expanded offering made sense. This is mostly from people coming out to have a regular brew, but wanting to stay out longer and still be ok to drive, so having one of our NA brews is preferred to some of the more standard NA options such as soda. Not sure yet if we'll do a third NA style or not but open to suggestions.

Gingebiru Ginger Beer Now Available!

Before the popularity of lager beers or the Ginger Ale NA, it was the Ginger Beer that was the most popular commercial beer in the US. Without any hops, it was a refreshing beer that could be made easily using sugar, ginger and lemon. Our version is slightly changed with using light malts in place of sugar and adding some flaked rice to provide a smoother finish.
The Details
  • SRM (Color): 3.5
  • ABV: 5.1%
The generous amounts of ginger, lemon, and flaked rice make an amazingly refreshing brew, perfect for cooling down with on hot summer days.

This is our third brew of the Gruit style, using no hops, only ginger and lemon to provide its thirst quenching flavor.

A perfect lager for winter, this brew is simply amazing. It's as smooth as you'd expect a lager to be, but with more body and richness making you feel like you hit the jackpot when having a sip.
The Details
  • SRM (Color): 19
  • IBU (Hops Bitterness): 22
  • ABV: 6.5%
Dominated by Munich malt, its rich color comes from a blend of Chateau Special Belgium and Chocolate malt, followed up with a mix of German Magnum and Noble hops.
